I am an Audiophile enthusiast & Engineer. My aim is to listening to great music in the highest fidelity possible, whilst keeping the costs low.
Music engages the soul & evokes emotion. Technology is logical & systematic. As an engineer & musician both of my passions come together in the exciting world of high-end Audio.
The world of music reproduction has come a long way in the last 100 years: the last 15 years especially. The era of digital has not been all good. Yes we enjoy the convenience taking our music wherever we go, but this is at the loss of beautiful album art and to the detriment of the listening experience. Thankfully the tide is turning with cheap storage, amazing DACs, the resurgence of vinyl, ever better speakers and amps plus streaming sites like Tidal that distribute un-compressed.
This site is about sharing my projects and interests to hopefully to inspire others to learn from some of my successes (and failures!). Through self-build and selected purchases I am enjoying Hi-Fi again. This is achieved through ingenuity, DIY engineering and grateful reuse of open source hardware and software solution.
Audio quality is of course subjective. We each have a different perception as to how well something sounds – “beauty is in the ear of the beholder”.
The site is written under my online pseudonym where you can also find me on diyaudio.com and GitHub.com.

Enjoy!
